Play Throne Buddy with friends on separate devices! Each player uses their own phone, and the game stays perfectly in sync across everyone's screens.
How to Invite Friends
There are three easy ways to get your friends into a game:
📝 Share a Code
Every game gets a unique 6-character code (like J7K2M9). Just tell your friends the code over voice chat, text, or however you communicate.
To join with a code:
- Open Throned
- Tap Join Game
- Enter the 6-character code
- You're in!
📱 Scan a QR Code
Playing in the same room? The host can show a QR code right on their screen.
To join with QR:
- Open Throned
- Tap Scan QR Code
- Point your camera at the host's screen
- You're in instantly!
🔗 Tap a Link
The fastest way to join! The host can share a direct link through iMessage, Discord, WhatsApp, or any messaging app.
To join with a link:
- Tap the link your friend sent
- Throned opens automatically
- You're in the lobby!
> Note: If you're not signed in yet, the app will prompt you to log in first, then take you straight to the game.
Hosting a Game
- Tap Create Live Game from the main menu
- Choose your game settings (players, teams, etc.)
- Share your game using any method above:
- Tap Copy Code to copy the 6-character code
- Show the QR Code for in-person friends
- Tap Share Invite to send a link via your favorite app
- Wait for friends to join the lobby
- Tap Start Game when everyone's ready!
Tips for the Best Experience

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if my friend doesn't have the app installed? A: The invite link will take them to the App Store first, then straight to your game after they install.
Q: Can I join the same game twice? A: No — each player can only join a game once to keep things fair.
Q: What happens if someone loses connection? A: The game pauses for 30 seconds to let them reconnect. If they don't make it back in time, they'll forfeit.
Q: How many players can join? A: Live games support 2-6 players in free-for-all or team modes.
